This week I recommend The Report on SBS. A political drama based on real life events, an alarming exposé of what happens when power and ineptitude goes unchecked.
Adam Driver embodies our frustrations at the corruption and deception he faces in trying to uncover the truth. Benning is unreadable and the rest of the supporting cast play their parts brilliantly.
The simple electronic soundtrack hums along in the background sparingly, allowing space where needed. It looks great, highly stylized in places, the movie is helmed by experienced writer Scott Z Burns, this only his second directorial outing.
