Solaris, it’s no K-Pop Demon Hunters but it’s pretty good. What does it all mean? That’s up to you, one of the gifts of great art is exactly this.

Each time I revisit Solaris I come up with something new. On this most recent visit I felt that it’s an exploration of time. How the past, present and future are happening to us at once, that time is a benevolent ever present force and that space and time are the unified fabric that hold us all together. Or, you know, maybe not...

Unrelated to the film here’s a great quote from Tarkovsky. “Some sort of pressure must exist; the artist exists because the world is not perfect. Art would be useless if the world were perfect, as man wouldn't look for harmony but would simply live in it. Art is born out of an ill-designed world”

Solaris is (legally*) free to air on youtube. Link here >>> Solaris
